Tibor Reel Series
The Tibor series of reels were first introduced in 1995 and have established themselves as the benchmark for custom-crafted fly reels. After years of development and input from the likes of Lefty Kreh and Flip Pallot , the Tibor reel series is now one of the finest reels in the world. These reels are known to be bullet proof as well as offering one of the best drag systems found in any reel. It is our favorite reel in the larger sizes for battling with offshore fish as well as big Tarpon. More world records have been set using Tibor reels than any other reel series. This reel is a trust worthy workhorse!
The Tibor Reel Series is known to be solid, reliable and made to the highest standards. These reels however do have a slight disadvantage. Spool change is not the easiest on the market. Many premium reels today offer superior spool removal compared to the drawbar/drag system Tibor uses. Many fishermen may desire a reel that is capable of instantly ''popping ''off the spool. In this case we would recommend you take a look at the Sage 3500 or 3600D reels . On the other hand, there are many fishermen who don't find themselves changing spools often. In this case the Tibor reel is a top choice! ''For a bullet-proof Tarpon reel my trust is in the Tibor Gulfstream or Pacific.
