Boeshield T-9 was originally designed by Boeing Aviation as a corrosion protectant for aircraft components.  Through licensing, this product is available to consumers and businesses.  Boeshield T-9 is a combination of solvents, lubricants and waxes designed for penetration, moisture displacement, lubrication and protection.  It has become a staple in the fishing business to protect our tools and tackle from the harmful effects of saltwater.

Boeshield T-9 dries to a thin waxy film that clings to metal.  Because of this, it works especially well on fly reels and tools that are subject to tough conditions while fishing. Before we started using T-9, we would see constant corrosion issues with certain reels.  Now, even reels without the best finishes are able to withstand years of saltwater use.

As an added benefit T9 will also loosen rusty and corroded parts.

Unlike some sprays, it is safe on fly lines.

To apply T-9 to your reel or tools, just it spray on and then wipe off the excess.  You can also spray it on to a cloth and then buff your reel.  For maximum protection from rust and corrosion just spray it on and allow it to dry.  In addition, this method works well for reels that will be put into storage.
