The Bauer Mackenzie MZ Series is a completely new design using a patented "zero-backlash" clutch and Cork/FXB polymer disc drag. The MZ uses four stainless steel ball bearings and has a sealed drag mechanism which is part of the frame unit. The reel has a quick release spool and traditional frame side drag adjuster knob.

The MZ is 100% machined aluminum alloy and stainless steel construction with no plastic parts or bushings. The MZ functions with ball bearing smoothness, a silent retrieve and a crisp out-going click. The reel (frame & spool) comes with Jet Black polished glossy finish with optional spool colors.

Note:   We have been abusing these reels on New Jersey beaches for years and have found them to be very reliable and ultra durable. This reel could quite possibly be the most durable reel in this price range!
