The RIO Striped Bass Tapered Leader is a specialized leader for the demanding conditions faced while fishing for stripers. Heavy flies & tough winds are always making saltwater fishing tough. These leaders are 7 ft (2.1 m) long, clear, with a heavy butt designed to turn over large, bushy flies.

     ''I am very impressed with the quality and turnover on these RIO striped bass leaders. In the past I would tie my own leaders using RIO saltwater material. Then I switched over to using bimini knots to connect my tippet to my leader. I simply take a striped bass 22 lb tapered leader and tie a bimini on the end of it. All of my 12-20lb tippets are pre-tied and quickly get looped on to the tapered leader. I even have wire sections with loops, so that I can quickly remove my tippet and loop on wire!
