RIO's Striped Bass fly line offers a 40 ft clear AquaLux head and a super slick and supple running line on a single strand monofilament core for smooth casting and minimal coiling. For night fishing, the luminescent running line glows when charged with a flashlight. The luminescent section shows the angler when there is the correct length of line out of the rod tip for maximum casting performance. A short front bullet taper and medium length back taper (based on the Clouser taper), propels large flies to stripers, bluefish and seatrout.
Where conditions demand a floating line, we recommend RIO's Coldwater Clouser lines .
Note: We find this line to be a great four-season striped bass fly line. It has the right amount of memory for fishing spring, summer and fall temperatures. The AirFlo Cold Saltwater fast intermediate line is a better striped bass line for temperatures below 40 degrees for late season fishing.
