The Cortland Splicing Needle is one of the best tools a fisherman can own. Use the small size for 20 lb backing or braided mono. The large size is used for 30 lb or larger backing and mono.

Note:   We find traveling with one of these splicing needles, a small amount of braided mono and a small bottle of Zap-A-Gap, will be all you need for emergency rigging of damaged fly lines or new lines that require rigging.
