The Scientific Anglers Mastery Headstart line is a top quality line designed for new comers to the sport of fly fishing. This line features a shorter front taper with a little extra power to help anyone looking to develop the proper casting tempo and stroke.

We especially love the combination of the super slick AST formula with the shorter head. This line casts with authority and will help you slow down and not feel as if you have to punch your cast.

Note:    This is our favorite line for women and youth as well as beginners. There is no reason for any new casters, especially women and youth to have a super long fly line that is designed to cast incredible distances. We find most fly lines are NOT properly designed to help the average casters with everyday fly casts. This Headstart line excels at casts in the 10-55 foot range, which is the majority of the fly casts made.

Applications:

• Special taper - made half-size heavier to increase rod load for easier casting - is ideal for beginners and occasional anglers
• Quick-loading and quick-shooting for fast-casting big dry flies, hoppers, salmon flies, streamers, and nymphs
• Telecast bump on running line (see below) tells you by feel when to pick up and recast
