: Leaders & Tippet The tapered leader and tippet section is very important to any fly fisherman’s success. We urge you not to ignore your leader and tippet. Make sure when that “fish of a lifetime” grabs your fly, that you are ready for battle. Most worn leaders and bad knots will work great for small to average fish, but they will almost always fail on the fish that count!
